STAG BY A BRANCH, AFTER PIERRE-JULES MÊNE

Sculpture of a stag beside a tree trunk, executed after the well-known animalier model Cerf à la branche by French sculptor Pierre-Jules Mêne (1810–1879). The stag is depicted standing upright with its head raised, the composition complemented by a stylised tree trunk and branches. Finely modelled fur, antlers, and terrain of the base.
