Miloslav Holý (1897 - 1974) WINTER LANDSCAPE WITH A HOUSE

Unlike his role model, Antonín Slavíček—who, on the contrary, sought to capture panoramic views—Miloslav Holý chose to focus on small sections of the landscape. As this beautiful example illustrates, one of his primary means of expression was the use of intense color, and the painting captures a fleeting experience of the atmosphere.
