Emanuel Kodet graduated from the Vocational Ceramics School in Bechyně and then studied at the Art and Industry School in Prague. He was a student of Stanislav Sucharda. The central theme that Kodet addressed was the female figure, especially in the form of a nude. He also photographed his models and these photos are a popular subject of exhibitions. Among his important realizations are, for example, the decoration of the Živnobanka palace in Vienna, Žižkov's mound near Sudoměř, the credit bank in Lviv, or a number of grave sculptures (e.g. Psyche).
