A work that stands out in terms of color and motif from the collection of Jan Vyleťal, the twin brother of the well-known imaginative painter and poster maker Josef. In particular, he applies here a feeling for technically careful spatial distribution and conceptual abstraction of the topic into a format that would be able to visually accommodate his thought scheme. He decomposes oriental motifs into fractals, which generate complex patterns based on the repetition of simple rules. Jan Vyleťal created a very balanced and remarkable body of work, numbering almost two hundred paintings, which, according to the leading geometric art expert Jiří Valoch, probably has no parallel in the sphere of geometric abstraction in terms of its originality, both in domestic and world art.
