MADONNA WITH A CHILD

A statue of the Madonna and Child in the spirit of 16th century Spanish morphology. The composition of the sculpture is axial, in contraposto, but without the Gothic S-haped turn. The Madonna holds the baby Jesus on her left hand, opens her arms and is dressed in a fashionable dress with a heavily modeled waist and a rich skirt, drapery indicated in regular verticals and gilded polychromy of a floral brocade pattern.
