Balthazar Wigand (1771 - 1846) ARCH OF TRIUMPH IN MILAN

Balthasar Wigand studied painting at the Vienna Academy. He specialized in miniature paintings of vedutes and historical events from life, especially in contemporary Vienna. His works were already highly valued by his contemporaries for the high factual and topographical accuracy associated with the small formats of Wigand's watercolors and gouaches.
