PERSIAN HAMMERED COPPER BOWL

Deep hammered copper bowl with rich engraved decoration in a historicising style drawing on the earlier Safavid tradition of Persian metalwork. The decoration consists of a broad band of Persian calligraphy and bands of stylised floral and geometric ornament. Persia, Qajar period, dated 1318 AH (1900–1901) in the inscription band.
