The 1970s brought a sense of urgency to Jiří Anderle’s work. His figures are participants in depraved acts, fighting for their lives, and serve as a critique of society and the regime in which they find themselves. The figures are captured in motion, confined within the overall frame of the canvas, and are artistically “X-rayed.”
