This exceptional robust French chest of drawers from the reign of Louis XV is an example of the combination of the fine craftsmanship of the bronze tradition, with a dynamic understanding of Baroque morphology. Four drawers in total with solid gilt bronze figural hardware with handles with stylized intertwined snakes and central sphinx hardware. Floral motifs in bronze extending along the corners from the legs to the top panel, terminating in female faces. Separating brass lines between the drawers and along the sides. Drawing formed by stacked woods in elaborate marquetry. Completely restored, excellent condition.
