Already during Kryštof Hošek's studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, it was clear that the central problem of his work would be the form of man, the understanding of his corporeality as man understood it before modern European dualism. A kind of sculpture Revolution evolution is a kind of Hošek's "Memento mori"! Apparently due to the genetic interventions of a proud human, huge rats occupy the world and gnaw at everything that is left. It can be a vision of a possible form of the posthuman world, the realization of which man is preparing today with his rudeness. The viewer, almost as cute as the creature, sees the comforts of his world in amusement, but the chill of fear cannot be completely suppressed. Huge rats in the courtyard of the Kampa Museum were exhibited from October 2020 to February 2021. Kryštof Hošek is one of the most prominent authors of the younger middle generation. He focuses primarily on sculpture, or classical, especially figural sculpture, a number of sculptures are designed for public spaces. However, classic does not mean outdated, Hošek's works attract a lot of viewers' attention and sometimes provoke contradictory reactions. With his sculptures, which oscillate on the border of decadence, caricature and pop art, he reacts critically to current social or political events. His manuscript takes on sometimes hyperrealistic forms. To this it could be added that his work is often based on the stories of human civilization, there are references to mythology, the Bible, art history, high and declining literature, our current reality.
