Academic painter Karel Langer is one of the important representatives of Mařák's school and is a co-founder of Impressionism in our country. He studied in the studio with prof. J. Mařák at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, then studied for another three years at the figural specialty with prof. Ottenfeld. The neo-romantic painting study Mountain Landscape presents an interesting open-air plein air with idyllic colors and a very modern and brisk construction of the landscape corresponding to its rougher mountain character.
