In the past, women were often attributed special and supernatural abilities. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, spiritualistic, decadent and existential themes developed rapidly in the Czech artistic environment, and Richard Teschner joined this current. He not only projected his visions into puppet shows, but also created paintings and graphics depicting witches as ugly and cruel beings who secretly gather and cultivate the dark sides of the human heart.
