The fourth canvas from the series also features a beautiful genre scene skillfully set in the chilly winter landscape with the pink light of approaching dusk. The main focus is on a young village girl with a bundle on her back, leaning against a wall. The girl's face is fixing her gaze on a scene outside of view, arousing greater interest in the action in and the narrative details of the painting. Besides being an excellent portrait painter, Bukovac was a "storyteller". In this case the brushwork is not as loose, and his attention to the outline is evident. The painting is listed in the catalogue raisonné under the title "Zima" and number 839 as part of the monograph by Vera Kružyć-Uchytil: Vlaho Bukovac – Život i djelo, Zagreb, 2005. Published in the magazine Český svět, 1909. Oil on canvas, signed and dated on bottom left Vlaho Bukovac, Prague 1909.
