Milada Marešová was one of the first women to graduate from AVU. Her works are appreciated primarily for their reflection on social issues. Marešová was primarily an interwar painter, in 1940 she was arrested by the Gestapo for her work during the war period and for her participation in the magazine V boj. After the war, she mainly devoted herself to illustrating children's books and also traveled. She worked on motifs of crowded cities in the interwar period and after the war.
