Jiří John is considered a leading representative of the Czech art scene of the sixties of the 20th century. His mature artistic expression combined the effects of nature, matter and light. A stone falling on a rose is the author's statement about the occupation of 1968. Symbolic expression was not typical for him, but in this case he felt the need to express his wounded feelings.
