A tabletop celestial globe by the prominent German cartographer, engraver and publisher Matthäus Seutter (1678-1757) of Augsburg, who was considered one of the most important and prolific cartographers of his time. For his service, Charles VI granted him the title of "Imperial Geographer" in 1732. Lined paper glued to a plaster base. Wooden mounts - oak, brass axis. Marked on the cartouche.
